Dealing with an account portfolio which contained some of the largest companies in the world such as Schlumberger, Herbert Smith Freehills, Rotork, Jones Lang LaSalle and Aston Martin, they regularly encountered a conflict of interests between providing client’s with the very best advice versus the requirement to grow their account portfolio’s spend with Microsoft each year.
Let us explain, all Microsoft full time employees within the Premier Services division are measure by a series of Key Performance Indicators called ‘Microsoft Premier Governance’. Often, this would lead to a conflict of interests whereby if employees knew of a way for a client to save a significant amount of money (often hundreds of thousands of pounds), they would be unable to share this information with the client as it would cause their account portfolio spend to shrink significantly.
