I’m passionate about technology, specifically business IT support. “Well that’s dull!” I hear you cry, but not in my experience – and here’s why. I believe that there are no bad jobs, only bad attitudes and that if you approach any subject with passion, patience and persistence then good things happen. Subsequently, I’ve held some of the most exciting, rewarding and demanding jobs in the world working in a variety of industries including Film and Formula One which has enabled me to gain a great deal of unique experience whch I’d like to share with you. As Senior Global Service Delivery Manager at Microsoft I managed a portfolio of accounts with a market capitalisation of over $100bn leading ITIL/MOF best practice Service Delivery implementation.

I've worked with Directors and CIO's of some of the world's leading companies including Aston Martin, Buro Happold, Herbert Smith Freehills, and Schlumberger helping to formulate IT strategy.

Awards

I've won many industry accolades including being voted onto the CompTIA Executive Council by my peers and delivering Symantec's keynote speech at RSA.

Why I started this business...

The trouble with working for large enterprises such as Microsoft, Cisco or Symantec is that large enterprises have large overheads that require significant operational and capital expenditure. Consequently, corporate governance is introduced in the form of sales targets and key performance indicators which are reported each quarter. Both individuals and teams must meet or exceed these targets. This causes employees to choose between doing what is right for the customer or doing what is right for them (usually hitting an internal target for which they will receive a bonus).


Subsequently, businesses of all sizes aren’t made aware of the tactics which may be used to significantly reduce their IT support costs. I founded Strategic Asset to help businesses of all sizes to navigate the mega IT providers using business IT strategy and tactics learned whilst employed within those organisations to significantly reduce business IT budgets, whilst significantly increasing IT operational maturity and service levels. By combining the agility of a small consultancy with the resources and expertise of a large enterprise, I have created a hybrid service provider with the sole purpose of delighting customers who will then become promoters of my business.

I'm very lucky in that I am passionate about my work and live in the Cotswolds with my wife and sausage dogs. When away from work I explore my many interests including travelling, reading, boxing, film, cooking and fine wine. I also am an active member of my community and am always willing to help with initiatives such as upgrading a rural broadband service or other volunteering and non-profit opportunities.
